# Inspect Database Info

> Summarize MDBX table pages, freelist pages, the data file, and Reth static files.

Use `db info` for a compact overview of both Reth storage areas.

## Command

```sh theme={null}
rex db --datadir ./alice info
```

## Example Output

```text theme={null}
DATABASE INFO
Datadir:           ./alice
MDBX path:         ./alice/db
Static files path: ./alice/static_files
Schema version:    v2
Schema compatible: yes
MDBX
  Tables:          30
  Non-empty:       10
  Entries:         102
  Table pages:     160.0 KiB
  Freelist pages:  3
  Freelist size:   48.0 KiB
  Data file size:  4.0 GiB
STATIC FILES
  Files:           10
  Logical size:    502 B
```

Values depend on the selected database and will change as the node imports or unwinds blocks.

## Fields

| Field | Meaning |
| - | - |
| Schema version | Value stored in `db/database.version` |
| Tables | Tables registered by Rex's pinned Reth schema |
| Non-empty | Registered tables whose MDBX entry count is greater than zero |
| Entries | Sum of MDBX entries across registered tables |
| Table pages | Branch, leaf, and overflow pages currently assigned to registered tables |
| Freelist | Reusable MDBX pages not currently assigned to table data |
| Data file size | Logical length of `db/mdbx.dat`; sparse allocation means this is not necessarily physical disk usage |
| Static files | Number and logical size of regular files below `static_files/` |

The table-page total plus freelist size is not expected to equal the MDBX data-file length. MDBX uses a memory-mapped file with reserved address space and reusable pages.

Use [Database Tables](/docs/db/tables) to break the table totals down by name.
