# Inspect Node Identity

> Show the local node's devp2p identity, addresses, ports, and protocols.

Use `network node` to inspect the identity and connection details that the running node exposes through `admin_nodeInfo`.

## Command

```sh theme={null}
rex network node
```

## Example Output

```text theme={null}
NETWORK NODE
Client:          reth/v2.3.0/x86_64-apple-darwin
Node ID:         8915d6ec2f53ede650d5b9bea77d7756f177092171648ee1d8cbc550d334fa7a
IP:              127.0.0.1
Listen address:  127.0.0.1:30303
Discovery port:  30303
Listener port:   30303
Protocols:       eth
Enode:           enode://44826a...@127.0.0.1:30303
ENR:             enr:-IS4Q...
```

The exact client string, addresses, and record fields depend on the node build and networking configuration. Rex prints `-` for an optional field the RPC response does not include.

## How It Works

The command calls `admin_nodeInfo` and summarizes:

* the client name and public node ID
* the advertised IP and listening address
* discovery and RLPx listener ports
* supported application protocols
* the enode URL and Ethereum Node Record, when present

The node ID identifies the devp2p participant. It is not an Ethereum account address, transaction hash, or execution block hash.

<Warning>
  `admin_nodeInfo` is read-only, but the surrounding `admin` namespace is sensitive. Expose it only on a trusted interface.
